Cold-pressed from the dried kernels of the almond tree, Sweet Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis) improves the quality of both skin and hair with essential fatty acids and vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, and E. Very popular in Southeast Asia and in the Mediterranean region where the almond tree was first domesticated, the almond kernels and the nutty oil extracted from them were credited with promoting skin and hair health. Almond oil is light in texture, and can easily penetrate deep into the skin, softening and dislodging the dirt and debris accumulated in the skin pores and hair follicles. This prevents blackheads and acne. Because of the Vitamin A content in the oil, it may even help reduce acne flare-ups. For skin, sweet almond oil relieves dry, itchy skin without a greasy after-effect. Additionally, it nourishes, conditions, and softens hair.
